About Patrick
My name is Patrick Schmidt, I am 28 years old and studied industrial engineering with a specialization in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. At the moment I am working as a research assistant at an institute of the TU Darmstadt in the field of robotics.
I have already successfully given private tuition at two tutoring schools and privately for a total of 6 years. The confidential and open relationship with my tutors has always helped me to improve their school performance in the long term.

I have already gained a lot of experience as a tutor and have found that you can only learn well if you feel comfortable. So with me there are no stupid questions and I do not assume any knowledge. Nobody has to be ashamed of anything and if need be, I also like to repeat the material from the 5th grade if he has not yet finished high school. :)
Bad grades and problems understanding current tasks in school can have many reasons. Often it is because gaps in knowledge on previous topics have accumulated over time. Therefore, my lessons will be structured in such a way that the students give me a brief overview of which topics they are having problems with, so that I can in turn get an idea of their level of learning and their person. Here, the tasks brought by the students from the school are solved together. In doing so, I pay attention to the exact places where comprehension problems arise in order to find and improve these gaps in knowledge.
It is important to me to take away my students' fear of math and technical terms. Just because a term sounds complicated does not mean that it is the facts behind it! So if your knees shake when you hear the terms "curve discussion" or "algebra", you are also welcome in my course. I try to take the fear away with simple explanations and good examples.
In addition, I like to make sure in short repetitions that the students are sure of some important topics that are needed over and over again until they graduate from high school. So these are more useful topics than others and are particularly helpful in understanding them. These include fractions, systems of equations, curve discussions or percentages.
