I enjoy working with creative students from GCSE upwards, who are looking to enhance their subject knowledge and achieve their academic potential in the humanities. In our sessions we will focus on honing your analytical skills, building confidence in your critical thinking, and ensuring you can effectively communicate your ideas in both your coursework and in an exam setting. Typically we will spend our lesson (usually an hour but we can do longer lessons if needed) focusing on planning a typical exam-style essay question. We can also use the hour to work on tasks set for you by your teachers in school which you would like some support with. I am always happy to mark your work and give you detailed feedback. Ultimately these lessons are about supporting you through the academic year, so and I believe you should set the agenda! I have 8+ years experience in teaching English, History and Politics from KS3 to Degree level and am well versed in UK Exam boards including Edexcel, AQA and OCR. I also teach undergraduate students at Queen Mary and am particularly well-placed to support students either looking to improve their A-Level grades or those struggling with the transition from A'Level to university. I also have experience working with students managing an SpLD, who need support in structuring self-directed study at all levels. I have A'Levels in English, History, Politics and Theatre Studies. I have a BA and MA from the University of Bristol. I am in the process of completing a PhD in English Literature at Queen Mary University London
