About Joseph
I have decades of educational experience as a private middle school, high school, AP, and college level tutor, teaching in the university classroom, lecture and tutorial formats, and as outreach projects which includes adults as well as young students. I worked fifteen years as NASA contractor, which included giving presentations and in-flight demonstrations of astronomical observations to middle and high school teachers onboard a NASA aircraft. Those teachers then shared the experience with their students.

I am a patient tutor and like to narrow down areas where the student has good understanding and areas where they do not. I usually ask questions to test his or her understanding and identify the direction for the tutoring. I like to correct his or her misunderstandings by relating them to the good understandings and use real world examples to illustrate complicated concepts. I have decades of experience in both academia and the private sector which I use to steer the tutoring examples towards the student's academic and career goals. I can usually identify when a student is bored or lost based on his or her response to my tutoring and questions. If this happens, I take corrective action by engaging the student so he or she becomes engaged with the material again.
