About Wes
Hi, I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialise in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after a long break. My approach is gentle, encouraging, and designed to help you feel at ease from the very first lesson. I create a low-pressure space where progress happens through curiosity and enjoyment. We focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, and healthy posture to support free, natural singing. I also weave in mindfulness techniques to help you stay present and connected to your voice. Tone development and vocal control grow over time, and I guide you patiently through that journey. I teach a variety of styles including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult music—always aligned with your interests. Lessons are personalised to support both your goals and your comfort. Singing can be a powerful form of self-care, creativity, and confidence-building. It’s never too late to start or to reconnect with your voice. I’d love to help you begin—or begin again—with warmth, patience, and joy.

My singing lessons are designed to support both The Soloist in Training and The Adult Beginner through a clear, encouraging, and structured approach. For both personas, I emphasise pitch perfection, vocal expressiveness, and growing personal confidence. Each lesson begins with tailored warm-ups that gently stretch vocal range and improve tone quality. We explore different song styles—pop, soul, jazz, or musical theatre—to build versatility and discover each student’s unique voice. For The Soloist in Training, I help refine performance skills and emotional delivery to prepare for auditions or stage work. Adult Beginners are guided at a comfortable pace, with simple songs that grow in challenge as their technique improves. Musicality is woven into every session, from phrasing to dynamic control. I integrate modern tech tools like ear training apps and recording software, allowing students to track progress and hear real-time improvements. Pitch correction tools are used as learning aids, not crutches, helping students become more aware of their tone and accuracy. Lessons are flexible, supportive, and goal-oriented. I adjust methods to fit personal learning styles and comfort levels. Over time, students not only sing better—they sing with joy, clarity, and confidence.
