About Angela
Anything is possible if you believe it is possible! If you try, you will succeed. It may not happen the first time and maybe not even the second, but the willingness to hang in there and try something a different way is all I ask of my students. I promise to treat you with respect and LISTEN to what you tell me. Sometimes one's difficulty in understanding something has nothing at all to do with their scholastic ability. Sometimes stress, whether it be a situation with another student, a problem at home with a sibling or any number of possibilities can distract an individual causing them to not be able to process the information in front of them. Sometimes just being able to talk to someone can relieve that stress and remove those obstacles. I'm a great listener and I will always be honest with you because I have been in your shoes. I want you to succeed and in order for that to happen I have to know what is getting in the way and preventing that from happening. I don't expect you to know what it is...that's my job. I just want you to allow me to help and, together, we will figure it out. I only have one rule and that is to be honest with me. I promise you will never hear harsh words from me because you tell me something . If you didn't do something like an assignment to read something, being upfront with me will save a lot of time and frustration if you tell me. I understand that life happens and that's OK as long as it's not a regular thing. There's nothing we cannot overcome if we are both willing to try ....I'm willing if you are!

Hi! My name is Angie. I am a graduate of the College of Charleston where I earned a B.S. in Exercise Science. While in highschool, I was able to graduate early because I had earned a 4.2 GPA . Even though I did well in any and all subjects, English related classes were always my favorite. While in grade school, I competed in the school spelling bees and proceeded to the Nationals 3 yrs in a row. I was the only student to ever earn an "A+"at my school in College Prep Writing and have since authored many professional articles and contributed to several well known blogs. In addition to English, I am well versed in a variety of subjects both academically and professionally. I spent four years working as a nanny which included homeschooling the 4 children during the summer months. My experience includes working with students diagnosed with ADHD, Dyslexia , and other conditions that can often be obstacles to one's success in learning. On a personal note, I am a very patient and compassionate person who is able to relate with kids of all ages and communicate with them in a way that gives them the belief in theirself to succeed.
