About Christopher
I graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) from Elon University in May 2024 with my B.S. in Chemistry. While at Elon, I worked closely with Elon's Fellowships office, where I learned much of what I know about crafting strong individual essays into an overarching application package. By learning how to craft an application, I have been admitted to multiple competitive fellowships and research programs. These include:
- The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP), which provides $159,000 of support over three years to graduate students. - The National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program (NIH UGSP), a fellowship providing $20,000 annually for undergraduates in return for training at the NIH. - Multiple summer research programs for undergraduate students (including multiple sites of the Amgen Scholars Program, with an acceptance rate of ~5%). - Multiple incredibly competitive Chemistry PhD programs (such as Princeton University, University of Chicago, University of Toronto, University of Michigan, and UC-San Diego). While my area of expertise is in Chemistry and Chemical Biology, I am excited to assist in applications for any discipline!

Need help making your personal statement unique and impactful? Struggling to convey your research experiences in a way that conveys your accomplishments and who you are as a researcher? We will work together to make your application stand out amongst the crowd!
Our sessions will fall into one of two different types:
1. Planning sessions: These are all about designing your response to the essay prompts. We will take time to talk about your relevant history to allow us to brainstorm the best possible approach to responding to the prompts.
2. Editing sessions: These are all about improving your essay drafts! You will send me your essay drafts ahead of time, I will make comments/provide feedback, and we will meet to discuss revisions. For a typical one-hour session, I will spend 30 minutes on feedback and we will meet for 30 minutes to discuss revisions.
I am also available for asynchronous editing and feedback upon request!

Chris is an incredibly compassionate and patient tutor who wants you to succeed. He always works to explain the information in a way that makes sense to you and is committed to making sure you leave with more clarity than when you started.
He has a great knowledge of the subject. Very diligent and organized in his way of explaining things! Giving great tips on how to approach problems!
Chris is one of my favorite tutors! He is so kind and always walks me through everything I am confused on. He is patient and helps me work my way to the answer instead of doing the problem in front of me!
Chris really understands the material which makes it really easy to ask questions and receiver answers that actually help and answer the questions.
When people find out you are in Organic Chemistry, they feel bad for you, it is widely known as one of the hardest classes you might have to take. There is simply a lot to cover in a short period of time and it forces your brain to think in a different way. Most of the time the professor only has time to say it once (or maybe briefly explain it). This leaves a lot of gaps and points of confusion. Chris has helped to fill those gaps. Although I probably understand 1% of what I am supposed to know at the beginning of a session, I walk out knowing how at least 90% of it works. Chris gets that this is hard and that we all don't work the same way and take the time to explain it over and over again with different strategies until one clicks. He has never been frustrated when things still don't make sense after the 3rd time of explaining it he simply pivots to say it in another way that might make sense. He explains why a reaction happens the way it does in a way that could be cross applied to other reactions or concepts, creating an easier way to go about learning. Orgo is hard but its a bit easier when you have the right help.
Chris has tutored me for over two semesters, and he always comes ready to go through any problem I have step by step. Chris will take the time needed and explain the material efficiently to ensure you understand the topics. His explanations and clarifications helped me get an A last semester. I understand the material much better when I am done with a tutoring session. Highly recommend!
Chris is an amazing tutor. When he tutors, you can tell he really cares and has a passion for teaching. He differentiates his tutoring style according to the needs of each learner. Chris always strives to make sure everyone understands the material before moving on and is super encouraging. He is so approachable, nice, and helpful.
Chris is an amazing chemistry tutor who is very approachable and helpful. He is very knowledgeable and good at explaining things in a way that makes sense to someone who has never learned it before. Chris is also very helpful in providing additional resources to help me understand the material. He is encouraging, reliable, and respectful.
As part of my own training to be a tutor at my university, I observed Christopher D’Inzeo as he tutored three students at a time for general chemistry. Since there were three students seeking tutoring in the same session, Chris ensured each had an opportunity to ask questions. He guided them through a worksheet, checking in with each student before moving on to the next concept. The constant check-ins were an effective strategy to avoid moving too fast or lingering on a topic unnecessarily. He gave them appropriate time to work on their own through some problems and as questions arose, he answered them clearly. He did not explicitly give away any answers to homework- instead, he led students to reach their own conclusions by piecing together the knowledge they already had. Chris did a very good job in offering hints to students as he teased them into the “application" level of Bloom's taxonomy. This was particularly effective for this chemistry course. As it is an introductory course for majors, remembering and understanding are key, though reaching competence in application of the material is the goal of the course. Chris was able to bring his students one step closer to that goal.
He guided the discussion and cycled between each student. When students reached an impasse or a challenge, Chris helpfully “zoomed out” and brought a concept back to a bigger picture. He prompted students to review notes so they could refresh their memories about a topic and helped them figure out if their approach to a problem was missing any pieces.
As helpful as he was in a group setting, his assistance in a one-on-one environment can go much farther. I know him personally to be very passionate and curious, so he really cares about the material and he would be my top choice as a tutor for chemistry.
