About Franchesca

I have been teaching secondary school pupils for many years in a number of settings, including mainstream school and have a lot of experience with high ability students and pupils who find English Literature and Language difficult to master. I am able to teach content from most exam boards, however my most recent experience has been with AQA and therefore I know the current texts extremely well. I teach KS3 and KS4, able to cater to a range of ability levels with ease. I have extensive experience working one to one with pupils in the subject of English, covering everything from excellent revision techniques, analysing plays, novels and poetry, to essay writing and memorising key quotes. My approach has encouraged many of my students to achieve results above their school target grades, which has opened doors in terms of future opportunities at university.

About the lesson

Need immediate help with GCSE English Literature and Language from an expert tutor, teacher and national AQA examiner? Then I am the tutor for you. I am a confident and experienced secondary school teacher and associate examiner for AQA, able to engage students to maximise progress. All students I tutored in the 2023 and 2024 cohort passed both English and Language, with students achieving the top grades awarded at GCSE (grades 8-9). On average, pupils made 2+ grades progress over the course of the year, which was excellent. As a result of my Teach First training and PGDE research, I use evidence-based teaching approaches that help pupils store information in their long-term memory so that they will be fully equipped to answer each question confidently in their exams. My approach and lessons are always well-thought-out and creative to encourage pupils to love the subject but to ultimately maximise learning and progress. During tutoring sessions, I use the time to cover content, questions, demonstrate good exam practice and potential areas of difficulty and expect some homework to be completed to consolidate learning.
