About Alexis

I am an expert in communicating with all types, my past collaborators have included surreal poets, assistants of Stanley Kubrick and Oscar-winning producers. I run a screenwriting competition and I've edited poetry magazines, through which I've met some very interesting characters. I enjoy helping people of all types.

About the lesson

My approach is focused on Example, Inspire, Feedback. I will provide examples of brilliance in the field you aspire to (screenplays, poems, and other forms of writing) which we will read and learn from. I will read and feedback on your work. My main aim is that when you work with me YOU GENERATE MATERIAL. This is the true calling of a writer - to WRITE. But you will write with the benefit of great examples from the past and present, then you can become one of the great examples of the future yourself! I will also support you in getting your poetry published, and getting your screenplays noticed by managers, producers and so forth.

Alexis' feedback is extremely helpful and nurturing. He goes out of his way to try and help you find the best solution for a hurdle in a story, looking at all of the alternatives. Not only focusing on the big picture, he takes the time to highlight smaller details, to create very vivid worlds. As well as focusing on the creativity of storytelling he has a great understanding and use of the theory of storytelling. He's also very patient and easy to talk to.
