About Julia
My name is Julia, I just began my studies at the University of Ottawa for Physics/Math.. In the future I hope to become an Astrophysicist or a Chemical Engineer. In school my favourite subjects are Math, Chemistry and Physics and my least favourites are language courses. I am trilingual, speaking English, French and Portuguese. I was born in Brazil and moved to Canada at a young age. Previously I have mentored/tutored online for DDSB and I’m used to regularly explaining concepts to others.

I believe it is important to teach the 'why' of math and science instead of just the calculations. I plan on helping students understand what they are doing and how it applies to the real wold. Students should be able to explain the calculations that they are doing on a deeper, more intricate level and I plan on helping them to learn how to do so. I believe it is important to give students examples that they may come across in their life and not made up examples that only apply in school.
