About Tisha
I am a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and hold a Licentiate of Music in Voice. My teaching is especially focused on adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after time away. I understand that starting or restarting can feel intimidating, so I create a low-pressure, encouraging space where learning feels safe and enjoyable. Breathwork, vocal relaxation, posture, and tone development form the foundation of my lessons. I also bring mindfulness into music, helping singers connect more deeply with both their body and their voice. This approach supports not just technique, but also a sense of calm and focus during practice. I teach across genres such as Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult, giving students the chance to explore music that excites and inspires them. Lessons are always tailored, whether a student’s goal is to sing for pleasure, join a group, or simply reconnect with their voice. For me, singing is more than performance—it is a pathway to self-care, creativity, and confidence. I find joy in helping people express themselves and rediscover the power of their voice at any stage of life. My teaching method is centred on helping singers thrive in live performance settings. I believe stage confidence comes from preparation, practice, and learning to enjoy the spotlight. Every session combines technical training with performance skills, so students feel comfortable and expressive on stage. I focus on breath control, diction, and posture as the foundation of powerful singing. With these skills, voices become stronger, clearer, and more sustainable during long performances. Microphone technique is also a key part of my approach, teaching singers how to project effectively while maintaining balance and control. For those who perform in groups or thrive on solo expression, I adapt lessons to meet their unique needs. I use curated song choices and movement exercises to help singers connect emotionally and physically with their music. This builds self-belief, charisma, and the ability to communicate with any audience. To make progress visible, I include video feedback sessions where singers can observe and refine their stage presence. I also guide them through stage presence drills and exercises that strengthen confidence in front of others. Vocal stamina apps and modern tools are used to track endurance, support consistency, and make practice engaging. My goal is to help each singer feel prepared, expressive, and connected when they perform. Step by step, we transform practice into artistry and stage nerves into energy. With this method, every student can discover their unique presence and shine with confidence before any audience.
