About Rhys
With over five years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education focusing on voice, I have a deep passion for vocal storytelling. I specialise in Jazz Standards, Broadway solos, and Golden Age repertoire, where music and narrative come together beautifully. My lessons emphasise swing phrasing, jazz ornamentation, and lead sheet reading to help students capture the authentic style of these timeless genres. I love working with passionate adults, seasoned singers, and community theatre actors who want to deepen their connection to the music and their characters. Together, we explore character interpretation and expressive techniques that bring songs to life beyond just the notes. Every student’s voice is unique, and I tailor my teaching to highlight their strengths and artistic personality. Performing with style, emotion, and classic charm is at the heart of what I teach.
