About Walter
I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. I’m passionate about helping students find their vocal confidence and express themselves with authenticity. Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for the stage, I create a safe, supportive space to grow. I specialise in styles like Pop, Indie, R\&B, and Contemporary Worship, guiding each student towards their unique sound. My lessons focus on breath control, expressive phrasing, vocal health, and connecting emotionally with every song. I also offer live performance coaching to help you shine in front of an audience. I love working with shy beginners, creative teens, and aspiring recording artists alike. Each lesson is personalised to fit your goals and musical identity. I believe singing should feel joyful, not intimidating. Together, we’ll explore your voice, overcome nerves, and build lasting confidence. My singing methodology is designed to help both the Adult Beginner and the Advanced Teen discover and grow into their unique vocal identity. We begin with vocal tone shaping, helping students understand how their voice works and how to bring out its natural colour. I guide each singer through exercises that build control, flexibility, and confidence. We dive deep into song interpretation, focusing on storytelling and emotional expression. Whether it's a soulful ballad or an upbeat pop tune, we work on making the performance feel real and personal. I use lyric analysis sheets to help students connect with the words they sing, and vocal journals to track their growth and vocal habits. Genre exploration plays a key role in expanding creative range. Students are encouraged to try out jazz, R\&B, pop, or even folk to discover what resonates with their voice and style. Improvisation is introduced to unlock spontaneity and musical freedom. We also use modern tools like melody trainers and DAWs to build pitch accuracy, harmony awareness, and recording skills. Every lesson is shaped around the student’s pace and personality. My goal is to make singing a creative, empowering journey—one that inspires growth both technically and artistically.
