When it comes to private tutoring in Chinese, my approach is holistic and tailored to each student's needs, focusing on four key areas: speaking, writing, listening, and reading.
Speaking: I prioritize conversational skills, encouraging students to engage in real-life dialogues. We practice pronunciation, intonation, and vocabulary through interactive exercises and role-playing scenarios.
Writing: I emphasize the importance of both character recognition and composition. We work on stroke order, grammar, and sentence structure, gradually advancing from basic writing to more complex forms, such as essays and creative pieces.
Listening: To enhance listening comprehension, I incorporate diverse audio materials—native speaker recordings, dialogues, and songs. This helps students acclimate to different accents and speeds while developing their ability to understand context and nuance.
Reading: We explore a variety of texts, from beginner to advanced, including articles, short stories, and cultural materials. This not only improves reading skills but also deepens cultural understanding.
By combining these elements in a personalized curriculum, I aim to make learning Chinese engaging and effective, fostering a confident and competent language user.
