About Julie
I am well-versed in medical chi gong and have a diploma in acupressure massage. I also have certifications as a medical chi healer, personal trainer, and Stott Pilates instructor, martial art instructor - Taekwondo & Korean Sword, Tai Chi.
I have worked with people in all age groups and with a range of conditions over my teaching career. This has given me important new perspectives in dealing with idiopathic conditions.

You will learn technique to perform a self-massage for specific conditions or general well-being along with seated exercises. You can practice acupressure massage daily or whenever you experience symptoms such as headaches, backaches, knee issues, low vitality, joint stiffness, dry eyes, bad indigestion, weight management, cold hands & feet, feminine issues, etc.
Each session will begin with light stretches and simple exercises to enhance circulations first, followed by instructions for acupressure massage techniques. It's an hour lesson and you can exercise seated or standing depends on your ability.

After being diagnosed with stage 4 COPD,, I received three separate surgeries. I was given physio therapy before and after these operations. These exercises helped me to recover and begin to return to a normal life. However, there were only a limited number of sessions available. I obviously needed to replace them with a suitable alternative if I wanted to remain actively mobile and continue to build strength and flexibility. This was when I was introduced to Julie Kim and I joined her pilates classes. It didn't matter that I was a complete beginner and had physical limitations due to my health. The group have mixed abilities and everyone does what they can. The exercises begin with simple seated stretches and build the level of difficulty gently over the hour, working on each muscle group, including exercises designed to improve brain agility. Finally, we are taught how to massage certain muscles and apply pressure to specific points of the body which relieve varying symptoms from physical aches and pains to breathing or headaches. Julie can offer extensive advice and I have found the work out extremely beneficial. Whether you want to relieve pain, build strength or just keep fit, I thoroughly recommend these classes.
Julie’s Pilates class is fantastic. Julie is a very motivating teacher and her classes are fun and enjoyable. Julie will provide different poses to incorporate all abilities and she is hands on which will help to improve your Pilates technique. You will come out of Julie’s Pilates class feeling energised, fitter and with a clear mindset. I would highly recommend Julie’s Pilates class.
Since I have attended Julie's class, I noticed the steady progress and a lasting difference. I feel stronger, more flexible especially in my hips, and more in tune with my body. Her encouraging approach makes the sessions really enjoyable, and the way she connect with the group creates such a welcoming environment. It's something I genuinely look forward to.
My 77-year-old mother began an online class with Julie once a week on 25th February this year, and to my surprise, she told me mid-June that she could get up from the floor without using her hands and had lost weight by 13kg. She used to complain about knee pain and heavy legs, sleep cramps, and an ache in her right shoulder, but she can now use her right arm freely and appears to be a different person. She had never exercised before, which made her nervous when I suggested it, but she now looks forward to her weekly class with Julie. I cannot thank her enough.
I have been taking Chair Yoga classes with Julie for a few months. She is a great teacher, efficient, firm but also gentle, always smiling. She does all the movements with us to show how they should be done, but also goes round the class to do a little correction here and there. I feel valued by her. She is a true role model.
Certainly worth trying if you are trying to get back into any exercise. You can do at yourself at your own pace and leisure and the difference is proving noticeable with increasing flexibility.

Julie teaches Pilates at my workplace. She’s an encouraging and enthusiastic instructor who pays attention to detail in her sessions. I always leave the session feeling refreshed and reset after a long day at work.
As soon as Julie saw me, she mentioned that my hips are imbalanced and lower backache which surprised me. She instantly fixed my hip balance with simple exercise movement along with her acupressure massage technique. She knows how to motivate and encourage people to get into exercise without resistance. Even after many years of group pilates classes, I struggled to some essential level exercise like a roll-up. Then I decided to tale a one-to-one lesson with Julie. She assessed my posture, and patiently explained and demonstrated to me which muscle I should use and which muscle that I shouldn't use. She taught me the importance of body awareness and psychological factors that held me back. I feel now much more confident and how to practice pilates by following her guide. She also gave me other health advice that I found really helpful. I got impression that she is genuine and wants to make people healthy.
I was introduced to Julie's seated yoga/pilates mindfulness class by the Wimbledon Guild and, after several sessions can honestly give this a 5 star thumbs up!! Julie manages to lead with clarity and humour as she takes us through gentle movements that target upper and lower body muscles and joints to ease flexibility, improve balance, coordination and strength. This includes exercises for the brain. The one hour session flies past and I come away feeling like I've had a mindful workout, physio massage session. The perfect class for anyone suffering from minor mobility issues and wants an engaging, motivating and knowledgeable instructor. I have been attending Julie’s Pilates class for 6 months and would highly recommend her as a teacher. Julie has a really easy manner and makes her classes enjoyable and engaging. Under her guidance I have become stronger and I feel great after her class.
Julie is an excellent tutor with a lot of patience with us, showing us the right way of doing Pilates and the exercises or movements we do is good for our bodies. It also makes you feel more flexible and energised.
Julie, takes her time and patience to explain exactly what move work where and gives you options accordingly to your ability, she never pressures her class, but encouragement and does so with grace!

Since I haven't done much exercise, I was initially a little nervous but Julie assisted me in starting workouts with ease, and after a few months of training, my period cramps disappeared and my energy level increased considerably. I highly recommend anyone with chronic fatigue or feminine difficulties.
Julie is an excellent pilates teacher.
She shows each move thoroughly and will come and show you if you're having difficulty or need help with a particular move.
Julie appreciates and recognises everyone's different levels and abilities and is able to give a more advanced version of the move or another option to make it a little easier.
