About Isla

I am a singing tutor with over 18 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education, specializing in voice. My passion lies in working with choirs, vocal ensembles, and group harmony training. I focus on styles such as Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, helping singers develop rich and balanced vocal blends. I am skilled in sight singing, solfège, part-singing, and rehearsal leadership, which allows me to guide groups effectively and confidently. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of leading school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups to achieve remarkable progress. My approach emphasizes musicality, teamwork, and clear communication within the ensemble. I believe that singing is not only a skill but a joyful shared experience. My goal is to help each group member improve their vocal abilities while fostering a supportive and encouraging environment. For the Quartet Player, prioritize blending techniques and harmonization skills alongside pitch accuracy. Use metronomes to maintain tight rhythm and explore vocal agility by switching parts within the group. Practice adapting songs across genres to enhance versatility and emotional connection. Both personas benefit from recording rehearsals, listening critically, and adjusting tone and timing. Encourage daily warm-ups, but keep sessions fun and goal-oriented to sustain motivation.
