About Samantha
Nice to meet you! My name is Sam, and I am a third-year medical student at a LCME-accredited allopathic (M.D.) medical school in the U.S. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored students in immunology and organic chemistry, and have mentored many students looking to pursue medicine. I incorporated worksheets and worked one-on-one with students to ensure they had the understanding necessary to ace their exams. In addition to tutoring experience, I immensely value patient education and teach classes on nutrition for patients with diabetes, hypertension, and fatty liver disease. I believe that education and fundamental understanding is applicable not only to excelling in academics but also in the real world in promoting preventative health efforts and increasing patient access to health knowledge.

As a tutor, I aim to help students build a foundation of understanding rather than just memorization of material. I am a medical student who has achieved honors in multiple medical school courses. I emphasize spaced repetition and having students teach back content after learning it to solidify their knowledge.
A typical lesson plan will consist of first assessing the student's knowledge and any learning gaps, addressing those learning gaps, and teaching back the knowledge to demonstrate mastery of their field of study.
Lessons are for middle, high school, and college students looking to improve their understanding in biology, especially those looking to pursue medicine.
