Hello y'all! My name is Fiona. I hold a dual degree in Journalism and Film Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and am currently pursuing my MA degree at Columbia University. I have traveled to 15+ countries, and want to make that number even higher this year! During my free time, I love movies, salsa dance, photography, and snowboarding. I've been tutoring at University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2016. I also taught ESL in Shanghai for 2 years. Currently I do part time consulting for international students applying for colleges in the US, the UK, and Canada.
From my experience teaching ESL, I found ways to make my classes engaging. Not only do I teach English as a language to use, but more importantly, the cultural context that the language is used under. I hope my tutees have fun in my classes while learning the language.
