About Nora
Hi! I’m an English tutor with over 8 years of experience and a degree in English and Creative Writing with a focus in Applied Linguistics. I specialize in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), working with university students and international learners preparing for academic success. My teaching is focused, supportive, and tailored to the demands of higher education. I help students improve their academic writing skills — from research papers to essays and critical responses. I guide them through brainstorming ideas, organizing arguments, and using appropriate academic vocabulary. I also teach essential study skills like note-taking, summarizing lectures, and understanding complex texts. Referencing can be tricky, but I break it down clearly so students can use styles like APA, MLA, and Chicago with confidence. Structuring clear arguments and avoiding plagiarism are also key parts of what I teach. My sessions balance writing practice with practical strategies for reading and listening in academic settings. I’ve supported many learners as they transition into English-speaking universities, helping them feel more prepared and less overwhelmed.
