About Maya
I earned my M.S. in Chemistry from UW and have 5 years of tutoring experience in Seattle. I also served as a TA in organic synthesis labs, guiding undergraduates through complex reactions. I hold an ACS Certified Laboratory Technician certification and am available weekday evenings and weekend sessions. Outside tutoring, I lead “Chem Science Saturdays,” interactive demos that connect chemistry to daily life for local families.

I deliver innovative Chemistry coaching—covering foundational topics (atomic theory, stoichiometry, and periodic trends) and advancing to Organic Chemistry mechanisms (functional group behavior) and Bio Chemistry (enzyme kinetics, metabolic pathways). We use virtual laboratory simulations and molecular visualization software (Avogadro) to explore 3D structures. Each lesson concludes with practice problem sets aligned to AP, SAT II, and undergraduate courses, followed by thorough conceptual debriefs.
