Book a guitar teacher in Mirabel

The average price for a guitar lesson in Mirabel is around $30/h.

Expect some variation depending on:

• The student's level (whether you're starting out or refining technique)
• The teacher's experience and qualifications (conservatory training, performance history, teaching certifications)
• Lesson length and frequency (30, 45, or 60 minutes weekly or biweekly)
• How lessons are delivered (face-to-face, webcam, or hybrid)

Some instructors provide reduced rates when you commit to a monthly bundle. Virtual sessions often cost less and fit easily into busy schedules. Many teachers provide a no-obligation first session to see if you're a good match.

A beginner guitarist should start with five core skills: guitar anatomy, proper posture, tuning, open chords, and basic strumming.

• Guitar anatomy: learning part names lets you tune, restring, and maintain your instrument confidently.
• Posture and hand position: sit with the guitar body on your thigh, neck angled upward at about 45 degrees, and keep your wrist relaxed.
• Tuning: accurate tuning is essential because even perfect technique sounds wrong on an untuned guitar.
• Open chords: these five shapes let you play countless popular songs within weeks.
• Strumming patterns: consistent strumming connects your chords into actual music.

With these basics solid, you can learn almost any beginner song and build toward barre chords and fingerpicking.

The 3 fret rule connects minor and major pentatonic scales: move any minor pentatonic shape down 3 frets and you get the relative major pentatonic.

• Example: the A minor pentatonic at fret 5 becomes G major pentatonic at fret 2—same shape, different root.
• Why it matters: learning one pattern unlocks both minor and major sounds without extra memorization.
• Musical context: minor pentatonic sounds bluesy and emotional; major pentatonic feels bright and uplifting.

A guitar teacher can show you how to apply this rule across all five pentatonic positions on the fretboard.
