About Freddie
I am a dedicated and approachable tutor currently in my second year studying Economics and Management at the University of Bristol, where I achieved a First Class in my first year. My academic record demonstrates consistency and hard work: I achieved A* in Economics, A* in Politics, and A in Maths at A-level, as well as 10 Grade 9s at GCSE across a broad range of subjects including Maths, English Literature, English Language, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, French, Spanish, Latin, and Geography. My experience extends beyond the classroom — I have taught and coached sports from skiing to hockey, which has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and encourage students to achieve their best. As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to push themselves further. Whether your goal is to build confidence, secure top grades, or simply make Maths feel more manageable, I bring both patience and professionalism to every lesson.

I make Maths clear, structured, and engaging by breaking down tricky topics into simple steps. I use real-life examples and encourage students to explain their reasoning, which helps build both confidence and problem-solving skills. Past papers and exam-style practice are central to my lessons, so students feel fully prepared for their exams. A typical lesson lasts one hour (though 45 or 90 minutes can be arranged). Each lesson starts with a short recap, followed by clear explanations of the chosen topic, and then guided practice with exam-style questions. I always end with a summary and set a short piece of practice work to consolidate learning.
