Well, for a start, I usually get to know my students and create as much as a friendly relationship towards them, you don't want them scared whenever they get to see you. Ask them what and how they've been taught and try to use the approach to avoid confusing them. Well, I have my tricks and it has never failed me. How about you give it a try.
