About Philip
My teaching style is flexible and adaptive as I tailor my teaching style and pace to the needs of the student, putting great effort in personalising lesson plans to maximise retention, a strong foundation and most of all, enjoyment in the subject. I pride myself on my patience and communication skills when explaining difficult concepts as I know for many both Maths and Physics can be frustrating.
Outside of my subjects, I enjoy watching many sports naming being a lifetime Aston Villa fan and an avid watcher of the NBA.

I work with students to strengthen their understanding and comfort in their subjects. I begin with a general assessment of their knowledge and skills in the subject to find the student's areas for improvement and then start teaching mainly using worksheets and questions. My lessons are usually 1 hour long with a homework sheet set at the end to reinforce what was done in lessons. I have found that this method has the best results for raising comprehension and exam skills and results.
I have been a tutor for 3 years, throughout this period I have tutored students at many levels from KS3 to A* A-level students. From this experience and my own studies, I have built a robust knowledge of the subjects and how they are assessed. I am in my last year of studying a Bachelor's degree in Physics at the University of Bristol, at GCSE I achieve 9s in both Maths and Physics and at A level I was given As in both.
