About Gina

Welcome to Leone Math Academy!

I'm Gina Leone, a New York State Professionally Certified Mathematics teacher with over 20 years of tutoring experience. Since 2005, I have helped students of all ages—from elementary math through AP Calculus—develop confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve their academic goals.

I love helping students realize that they can succeed in mathematics. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student who once struggled become confident, independent, and proud of their accomplishments. My goal is not only to improve grades and test scores, but also to help students develop a lasting understanding of mathematics that will serve them throughout their education.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Cum Laude) and my Master's degree in Adolescence Mathematics Education from Iona College. I also served as a high school mathematics teacher and Mathematics Department Chairperson, where I developed curriculum, mentored teachers, analyzed student data, and helped improve mathematics instruction across the department.

Every student learns differently, so I design lessons around each individual's needs, learning style, and goals. Whether your child needs to improve grades, prepare for a Regents exam, strengthen foundational skills, excel in advanced mathematics, or receive homeschool instruction, I provide clear explanations, engaging lessons, and personalized strategies that build both understanding and confidence.

My approach emphasizes conceptual understanding rather than memorization. Students learn not only how to solve problems, but why mathematical concepts work, allowing them to become independent and successful learners.

I believe communication is key to student success. Parents receive regular updates on progress, and homeschool families can request personalized assessments and progress reports to support their child's educational journey.

I look forward to helping your student build confidence, master mathematics, and reach their full potential.
