About Paige
Hi! My name is Paige, and I’m a Concurrent Education student at Brock University with a passion for helping students feel more confident in their learning!
I believe tutoring should be more than just getting through homework. My goal is to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and actually understand what they’re learning.
I tailor every lesson to the individual student. Some students benefit from working through examples step-by-step, while others learn best through discussion, practice activities, or visual explanations. I take the time to figure out what works best for each student and adjust my approach accordingly.
A typical lesson will start with a quick check-in about what the student is working on and what they want to accomplish. We’ll then work through the material together, practice applying the concepts, and finish by reviewing what we learned and what to focus on next.
As someone who is studying to become a teacher, I’m constantly developing my teaching skills and learning new ways to make challenging material easier to understand. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy seeing students have those “aha!” moments when something finally clicks.
I offer tutoring for elementary and high school students, particularly in English and other language-based subjects. I can help with reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, grammar, editing, literary analysis, assignments, presentations, study skills, and test preparation.
Whether a student needs help catching up, wants to improve their grades, or simply needs someone to make a difficult subject feel a little less overwhelming, I’d love to help!

My Teaching Methodology & Techniques
As a Concurrent Education student at Brock University, I take a student-centered approach to tutoring. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenges without feeling judged.
I adapt my teaching style to each student's needs and learning preferences. I use clear explanations, examples, guided practice, discussion, and hands-on activities to make difficult concepts easier to understand. I also focus on building strong study habits, organization, critical thinking, and confidence—not just completing homework.
A Typical Lesson
Every lesson is tailored to the student. We begin by identifying what they are currently working on and what they would like to accomplish during the session.
From there, I explain or review the material, work through examples together, and then have the student apply what they've learned through practice. I provide feedback throughout the lesson and adjust the pace or approach whenever needed.
We finish by reviewing the key concepts from the session and identifying areas to continue working on.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is that I am not only passionate about the subjects I tutor, but I am actively studying to become a teacher. My education background has given me experience developing lessons, explaining concepts in different ways, and creating supportive learning environments.
I want students to leave each session feeling more confident than when they arrived. My goal is to help students understand why something works rather than simply memorize an answer or complete an assignment for them.
