About Ryley
Hello!
I am a 4th-year honours university student pursuing my degree in biology and history. I graduated secondary school with an honours program in health and wellness.
I have been working with children and youth of all ages for nearly 10 years. I have experience in summer camps, classrooms, and private homes, providing child care and tutoring at all academic levels.
I specialize in English, including literature comprehension and analysis, reading and writing, essay prep and writing, and creative writing.
In addition to the above, I also offer tutoring in history, civics, and resume and cover letter writing up to the high school level.

After a long day at school, it may be hard for a student to focus through a tutoring session.
I encourage using both classic and modern learning techniques in my tutoring, blending internet resources and hands-on activities. By approaching after-school learning this way, there is greater attention to and retention of information.
I take an individualized approach to tutoring, adjusting to each child's pace, level, and needs. I tutor each child privately to focus my attention on one student at a time. With my multiple types of experience working with children and youth, I offer a supportive and flexible environment for students. I believe that discussions are an important part of learning and attentiveness, and strive to include a period of discussion each session.
Tutoring session duration is tailored to the student, based on need and age. Frequency can be between one and three sessions per week, with adjustments as necessary.

Details
There is no cancellation fee if cancellations are made by 9:00am on the morning of the session day. If cancellations are made after 9:00am, there will be a fee equivalent to the cost of the booked session.
