About Bethany
I am a fourth year undergraduate student at UBC Okanagan and will obtain a degree in mathematics and physics. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for my students and to answer any questions they may have in order for them to gain maximum understanding of difficult math and physics concepts. My greatest hope is to be a positive role model for other aspiring females in the STEM areas!

I have a deep passion for physics and mathematics and as a result I strive to create a teaching environment that helps students succeed and thrive. It is my personal philosophy that with the right teaching methodology anyone can succeed in mathematical subjects.
My foremost objective in tutoring is to identify and understand the
challenges students have with the material or specific concepts. After figuring out the difficulties facing the students I will create lessons that combine the fundamental concepts with practical applications in order for maximum understanding of the concepts. Then, I firmly believe that practice makes perfect so once I teach the basics of the specific area that is causing students trouble I will do as many practice problems as possible. This is so important with mathematics as it is the best method to understand difficult material.
