About Sierra

Hi! My name is Sierra, and I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto. I achieved an A in an advanced writing course throughout my undergraduate degree, maintaining grades above the class average in many writing-heavy courses. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and equipped with the skills they need to improve long-term. My lessons are tailored to what you need to succeed! Whether that be building a strong writing foundation, understanding proper grammar, and more!

About the lesson

I focus on building strong foundations in English while helping students gain confidence in their writing and communication skills. Since my university programs are very writing-heavy, I emphasize clear structure, strong arguments, proper grammar, and critical thinking rather than just memorization. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and goals, making lessons supportive and easy to follow.

Lessons can look like:
- Breaking down essays step-by-step (planning, thesis, structure, editing)
- Explaining grammar and writing rules with real examples
- Reviewing assignments together and giving constructive feedback
- Teaching organization, clarity, and academic writing techniques
- Encouraging independent thinking and improvement over time
- Review of previous work or challenges

Why should you choose me as your tutor?
What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong university-level writing background and proven academic success. I work with writing-heavy material every day and understand what professors look for in strong essays and assignments. I earned an A in an advanced writing course and maintain a 3.0+ GPA, which reflects both my skills and dedication. I’m patient, clear, and focused on helping students improve in the long term rather than just completing one assignment.
