About Sebastian

I have worked extensively over the years helping students develop strong academic writing skills. All of my students have successfully submitted quality essays, Theses, Dissertations and/or have published articles. The writing skills they learned have also helped them to apply for and win scholarship awards and grants. Moreover, many of my students have attested to how developing strong writing skills has helped them navigate the complexities of their jobs. This level of success only happens because learning proper academic writing skills also means learning how to critically think and articulate ideas. In today's modern world, where communication and the exchange of knowledge are everyday occurrences, learning such skills is necessary if we are to be successful both in life and work.

About the lesson

I currently work as a Writing Support Tutor for the University of Calgary. I have Lectured at the University of Manitoba and have worked as a Research Consultant for the Government of Canada and Manitoba.

The course is broken down into the following lectures:

Lecture 2: Decoding the Assignment
Lecture 3: Researching and Identifying Sources
Lecture 4: Developing a Strong Thesis Statement
Lecture 5: Planning & Structuring the Essay
Lecture 6: Writing Analytical Body Paragraphs
Lecture 7: Academic Style, Tone & Voice
Lecture 8: Integrating Sources & Avoiding Plagiarism
Lecture 9: Drafting, Revising & Editing
Lecture 10: Finalizing & Presenting Your Essay

This course is designed to teach students how to write at a university, government, and business academic writing level and to develop critical thinking skills.

This is a 10 week course. $500 is the full price of the course. However, as one lesson is free, the total cost of the course is $450. Full payment to be made in advance of the start of the course.
