About Matthew
For over ten years I have worked extensively with Mischief Theatre as an actor appearing in the original Broadway casts of both The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong (in which I was nominated for an Audience.com award for best featured actor in a play!). I'm also a member of Olivier Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and have performed with that show in both the West End and internationally. Connection to character and story is of real interest to me and I love being able to work with students to help them unlock their potential through those two areas. I've recently taught at Arts Educational Schools (scene work and acting through song) and am soon to be directing a showcase at Ruthie Henshall's CAST, a newly opened higher education course in musical theatre. I aim to create a supportive atmosphere that encourages exploration - acting is fun and lessons should be too!

Lessons will have a clear focus on text, character and story and will encourage the student to take the lead on interpretation. I believe the best acting comes from the actor becoming more in tune with their instinct for portraying truthful emotion. Lessons are online and between 30 minutes and 1 hour with some flexibility.
