About Alexander
My name is Alexander Taylor, and I've been playing guitar for over 10 years, with a deep focus on fingerstyle, classical, and solo acoustic music. I've studied classical guitar formally and spent years learning from folk, jazz, and world music traditions. For the last 6 years, I've taught guitar to players of all ages — from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for auditions or performances. I also work with students who want to learn to arrange their own fingerstyle pieces. My students trust me because I'm patient, attentive, and I tailor each lesson to their musical interests and goals. I've helped beginners master their first fingerpicking patterns, intermediate players develop rich solo arrangements, and experienced students prepare for recitals with confidence and expression. With me, you'll learn to play the guitar with depth, control, and a voice that's truly your own.

Hi, I'm Alexander Taylor. I've taught guitar for 6 years, and my focus is on fingerstyle, classical, and solo acoustic playing — the kind of guitar that sounds complete on its own, with melody, harmony, and bass all woven together. I work with players who want to develop a deep, expressive connection to the instrument, whether they're beginners discovering fingerpicking or experienced players looking to refine their technique. We start with proper hand position, nail care (for classical), and basic fingerpicking patterns — alternating bass, arpeggios, and syncopation. As you progress, we explore full solo arrangements: how to bring out a melody, shape a phrase, and control tone and dynamics. For classical students, I teach standard repertoire and technique; for acoustic players, I help arrange contemporary songs in fingerstyle form. I also cover reading notation, tablature, and theory as it applies to solo playing. My lessons are patient and detailed — every movement is intentional, every note has purpose.
