About Alice

Hi! I’m Alice

I grew up in China and lived there until I was 18, so Mandarin is not just my native language — it’s part of my everyday life and culture.

After high school, I moved to Canada for university, and I’m now a Master’s student in Educational Psychology at McGill University.

I’m fluent in English and also speak some French (living in Montreal definitely helps with that!). Because I’ve learned languages myself and adapted to a new culture, I truly understand how challenging — but also rewarding — the process can be.

That’s why I try to make my lessons feel natural, supportive, and practical, so you don’t just “study Chinese,” but actually feel comfortable using it in real life.

About the lesson

I use a student-centered and interactive approach, inspired by my background in Educational Psychology.

Learning through real-life scenarios (ordering food, making friends, daily conversations, etc.)

1.Emphasis on speaking and understanding, not just memorization

2.Step-by-step scaffolding to build confidence

3.Adjusting teaching style based on your pace and learning preferences

4.I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes — that’s how real learning happens.

Each lesson is structured around a specific real-life scenario that you are likely to encounter.

Casual daily conversations
