About Charlie
I am an AMEB Associate Diploma in Piano (AMusA) holder in both Performance and Theory currently studying at the University of Sydney, and I have an inherent love for music which I enjoy passing on to others. As someone who has undergone the whole experience of honing my craft from the very beginning, I can relate to the difficulties that students go through during all phases of learning, and I know how to take them through it in a constructive manner. My goal is to give lessons which are systematic, patient, and encouraging while being geared towards helping them achieve their unique goals.

The lessons are targeted towards beginner to intermediate students of any age wishing to learn piano in a pleasant and encouraging environment. Depending on whether you are a new or an experienced piano player, my lessons will accommodate your needs and aims.
In the lessons, I will first teach you all the basics required in playing the piano such as good technique, correct posture, note-reading and music theory knowledge. The next stage includes repertoire and development of more complicated notions of music theory.
Lesson time can be flexible (30-60min) online or in-person. Lessons consist of technical exercises, music theory and pieces. Enjoyment is just as crucial as discipline and therefore I always make sure to have a relaxed atmosphere and keep the lesson at a pace that is tailored to the student, whether it is more laid back or intense.
I am fluent in both English and Mandarin so lessons can be offered in either language.
