About Eunkyung

I was born and lived in Seoul, Korea for most of my life. I permanently moved to Ann Arbor, MI in early 2019. I have experience tutoring students from age 7 to age 75. I graduated from Ewha Womans University with a Bachelor's degree in English Education. I later earned a Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University in Using Drama to Teach a Foreign Language. I also earned another Bachelor's degree from the National Institute for Lifelong Education in Seoul for Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, and a Certificate of Korean Language Teacher, Level 2.

I'm passionate about sharing my Korean culture, including K-POP, K-Dramas, Korean food, traditional Korean music, etc. I also play the Haegeum and the Gayageum, traditional Korean musical instruments. I’m a native Korean from Seoul who started teaching as an English teacher in Korea and taught at both public middle schools and high schools for 20 years. I have a level two Korean Language teaching certification and a Master’s degree in using drama techniques to teach languages. I have been privately teaching Korean for the past 9 years.

About the lesson

I work diligently with my students to understand their needs and motivations to personalize their lesson plans. For example, I've worked with students who are BTS fans and taught classes utilizing BTS content. I am very passionate about my culture and hope I can share it with you. I’ve helped thousands of students learn foreign languages. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals in learning Korean.
