About Michael

When I first set out on my journey to becoming an architect I felt that a lot of the information which I have managed to acquire along the way seemed inaccessible. Concepts surrounding sustainable design or emergent technologies were often not well understood by design tutors and explanations were sometimes convoluted which posed a barrier to my own learning. I would like to help students in a similar position by providing a relaxed learning environment in which ideas can be explored and tested with support to allow them to enjoy the experience of design exploration. My personal ambition is to continue my work as a design tutor and an architect whilst pursuing a PhD in the future.

About the lesson

I’m a fully qualified architect with a distinction in the MaCAD programme at IAAC, where I now also work as an assistant tutor. I previously achieved a distinction in my Master’s (Part 2) and a First Class Honours in my undergraduate degree (Part 1) at the Manchester School of Architecture.

I enjoy working through design problems with students—whether that’s breaking down briefs, reviewing project work, or exploring new workflows. Together, we can develop a tailored approach that supports your project’s narrative and design ambitions.

I recommend booking at least an hour so we can cover the relevant material in enough depth. While my sessions will be especially helpful to undergraduate students, I’m also open to working with Master’s students who are looking to develop their projects further or learn new digital and computational techniques.

Perfect! Michael has been an amazing support for my last project in my undergraduate. He helped me use advanced BIM tools in REVIT that helped my project immensely. Other than him being a master in Revit, he's great at developing a clear narrative of your project. He run through my brief and together we made a clear plan and set of pieces I need to prioritise.
