About Uma
My interest in architecture began with a fascination for how spaces influence human experience. This led me to complete a Master’s in Architecture, where I developed strong design thinking and visualization skills. Over the past 9 years, I have guided students in understanding architecture in a structured and creative way that builds both confidence and clarity.
I believe that architecture should be taught with a balance of creativity and logic. My teaching approach focuses on simplifying design concepts and encouraging students to express their ideas through sketches and discussions. I support learners in developing their own style while building a strong foundation in design principles.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with architectural trends, design concepts, and urban development ideas. This helps me bring fresh perspectives into my lessons. Teaching architecture is very meaningful to me because I see students grow in creativity and confidence. Helping them develop strong design skills and express their ideas clearly is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Architecture becomes meaningful when students understand how ideas transform into real spaces. In my lessons, I focus on core concepts such as design principles, spatial planning, form development, and visual representation using simple and clear explanations. I break down each concept into smaller steps so students can follow comfortably and build confidence without feeling overwhelmed. I also use real-life examples like buildings, urban spaces, and everyday structures to help learners connect theory with practice. Each session is interactive and supportive, allowing students to explore creativity while understanding structure and logic.
As students progress, lessons are adjusted according to their level and goals. Beginners focus on basic sketching, proportions, and simple design ideas. Intermediate learners work on spatial layouts, model thinking, and concept development. Advanced students focus on project design, presentation skills, and portfolio building. I provide regular feedback, structured guidance, and creative exercises to ensure steady improvement and strong design understanding.
Architecture helps students develop creativity, observation skills, and problem-solving abilities. As they improve, they become more confident in expressing ideas visually and thinking in a structured way. These skills are valuable in both academic and real-world design contexts. My goal is to make architecture simple, engaging, and inspiring so students feel confident in developing their creative vision and design thinking skills.
