About Lisa
I am an ARCT concert pianist with a full associated diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada, and have over ten years of experience teaching beginner to Level 8 students, coaching performance, and preparing learners for RCM examinations . I currently teach publicly at Long & McQuade Music Center and work with motivated students who appreciate a structured, disciplined, and musically expressive approach.
My performance background includes concert appearances in Hawaii, Calgary, Toronto, and Italy . Recent engagements include the IPPA International Piano Festival (2025), Toronto Summer Music Festival (2017–18, 2026), Aloha International Piano Competition (2018), Calgary Performing Arts Festival (2015–2019), the HONENS Festival, and my appearance as a Honens ProAm pianist in 2021.
I believe classical music helps students develop confidence, discipline, appreciation of art, and a deeper understanding of themselves .
I teach teens and adults (age 12 and up) online, where focused weekly guidance and clear explanations support steady progress.
In‑person lessons for younger learners (under age 11) are available depending on schedule.

I teach using the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum, which provides a clear, developmental structure from beginner through Level 8. Lessons follow a balanced approach that integrates technique, repertoire, sight‑reading, ear training, and musicianship so students build long‑term stability and confidence. While RCM forms the core of my teaching, I also welcome complimentary music—such as modern pieces, film themes, or student‑selected works—to keep learning engaging and motivating.

Standard lessons: $80/hour
RCM exam‑focused training: $100/hour (or $50/30 minutes)
The higher rate applies only when RCM exam preparation is the student’s explicit goal.
For students learning for enjoyment, skill development, or general progress, the standard rate applies.
