Instructional time begins with a focused review of your current technique. Clarity is essential.
I emphasize correct intonation and rhythm alongside the nuance required for orchestral playing. Beginners often start with fundamental bowing and posture, while advanced students drill double stops and intricate exam repertoire. These elements ensure you gain a strong command over your instrument throughout every session.
Many students find that consistent practice with the right feedback creates the fastest results. I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep your home practice organized. You are welcome to schedule a time to talk about your goals whenever you feel prepared to start.

Teaching violin from my Ottawa studio requires a balance of structure and patience for the varied students who walk through my doors. Having earned my ARCT violin and piano certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music, I provide a clear path for young beginners and self-taught players seeking formal technique. My 13 years of teaching have led me to refine how I communicate complex musical ideas to children.
This deep background allows me to support those pursuing RCM grade levels 1 through 10 with total clarity. I currently perform within a prominent chamber ensemble to keep my own practice sharp. Observing how students grow through focused study remains the highlight of my career.
