"Strumming patterns, music theory, and reading tabs occupy much of my day, though I often find myself explaining how a barre chord works to a puzzled hobbyist. My BMus Popular Music degree informs everything I do, particularly when guiding adults through lead guitar or fingerpicking techniques. Having taught 400 students over 11 years, I have seen every struggle related to reading sheet music and scales.
I am a native Spanish speaker who leans heavily into the traditions of flamenco and Argentine folk. It is quite common for me to simplify a difficult song request into an arrangement that actually sounds musical for an absolute beginner. Teaching feels like a natural extension of my own practice as a performer. I often enjoy playing pieces from my own repertoire after a long day of helping students refine their own phrasing."
