About Scarlett
Setting up the violin requires a certain posture that eventually feels like second nature after a few months of practice. We spend our time balancing the technical demands of intonation and bowing technique with the creative requirements of orchestral playing. Because I hold an MMus from the Conservatoire, I treat your progress with the same detail I apply to my own performance preparation. We will track your development through a monthly progress report shared with parents to ensure consistency for younger students.
Working through ABRSM or Trinity requirements occupies much of our effort for exam candidates. Sight reading and ear training serve as the essential pillars for every hour we spend together. I keep the focus sharp and the environment productive. Everything is ready for your next practice cycle.

Teaching violin stems from a desire to share the precision of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal with others. Do you ever wonder how specific bowing techniques change the entire color of a musical phrase?
With 13 years of experience and 429 students taught, I specialize in helping returning learners and grade exam candidates master tone production. My work includes intensive focus on spiccato, staccato, and complex vibrato. Since I also hold an MMus, I bring a high level of academic rigor to every session.
