About Rowan

I began tutoring in high school because I enjoyed helping my friends when they had trouble with schoolwork, and seeing how they improved and achieved their goals. Now that I have graduated, I decided to get a blue card and start tutoring professionally as I want to continue helping students by sharing the strategies that helped me do well in my classes.

About the lesson

I started tutoring in 2024 on the recommendation of my teachers. Having recently graduated from high school in 2024 and receiving a Certificate of Academic Commendation from the QCAA, I have a deep understanding of the key ideas that QCAA markers look for when marking a student's response. I usually tutor mathematical methods for year 11 and 12 students, but I also tutor year 12 Chemistry and Physics, having received a 97/100 and 99/100 in those subjects, respectively. My lessons are usually between 1-2 hours long. My focus can be on anything from exam prep to reviewing assignments, however, I bring extreme emphasis to understanding the basics to ensure that the student can explain how a new concept evolves naturally from what they have learned previously. I have found that this is the best way to ensure that they can adapt to any question and understand the content on a deeper level, rather than simply remembering the "right answer".
