About Christian

I have always believed that math isn't about being a "genius," it's about finding the right perspective.

Not even a month ago, I sat in the same desks as my students, navigating the heavy workload and concepts of Quebec’s Secondary 4 SN curriculum. I didn't find success by staring at the textbooks or memorizing endless formulas. I unlocked it by treating math like a puzzle: breaking down the logic, finding the hidden patterns, and building efficient shortcuts. That exact approach helped me achieve a 94% overall average, and I bring the same approach to my students.

Because I am freshly out of the classroom, I think and talk exactly like you do. I remember exactly where the confusion hits, which traps the curriculum sets up, and how overwhelming it can feel when a teacher moves too fast.

My mission as a tutor isn't just to help you pass a class, but it’s to shift your mindset. I want to show you that with the right tips and tricks, math stops looking like an intimidating obstacle and more like a skill you can entirely control.

Whether you are struggling to find your footing or pushing for a higher grade, I am here to give you the patience, the strategy, and the confidence to make it happen!

About the lesson

Logic Over Memorization: Teaching You to Understand

The Methodology: Solving and Teach Me Back
- I believe the only way to success in math is by repeatedly solving problems.
- I will start by giving you problems to test your skill level, then doing another one with you
- My end goal is for you to repeat the concept back to me, and if you cannot do so, the practice continues

Techniques:
- Desmos Graphing Calculator: To see the correctly graphed parabola without having to stare at a paper

Lesson Plan:
1. Quick Check (5 mins): We take a look at your homework or a topic you're struggling with.
2. "How to" (30 mins): We break down a bigger topic into the parts that make it up. I'll teach you my shortcuts, and we'll practice.
3. Collaborative Practice (20 mins): On a digital whiteboard, you will solve problems while I guide you and spot minor errors to ensure a job well done.
4. Recap (5 mins): We list the most important steps to remember, and you repeat the concept and steps back to me!

My Appeal:
- Just finished Sec 4 SN math with a 94 overall average. I know the tricks and tips to navigate the problems as well as the most important subjects.
- I am bilingual. My main language is English, but I can navigate in French if needed!
- I will give you patience and teach at your pace to ensure a quality learning experience.
