About Patrick
I decided to become a pilot at 23, after trying several different jobs and realising I wanted a career that genuinely excited me. I entered aviation without a clear end goal, only knowing that I wanted to fly. Like many students, I had to work out what learning style suited me best, as traditional lectures and one-size-fits-all approaches don't work for everyone. I completed my pilot theory and exams successfully on the first attempt with strong results, not by being naturally gifted, but by developing effective study strategies and a solid understanding of how exams are structured and assessed. From there, I specialised in aerial application, building a rewarding career outside the traditional airline pathway. My teaching focuses on helping students understand that there is no single “right” path in aviation. People learn differently, progress at different speeds, and succeed in different areas of the industry. I help students find the study methods that work best for them, build real understanding of theory, and develop practical strategies to get through pilot exams with confidence. I enjoy mentoring students who want clear explanations, honest advice, and realistic guidance from someone who has been through the process and understands the challenges.

My lessons are practical, structured, and focused on helping students understand aviation theory clearly, not just memorise answers. I adapt each session to the student’s level and goals, identify weak areas, and explain concepts in plain English using real-world examples.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can cover CPL theory topics, exam preparation, study planning, or broader career mentoring. I provide honest guidance based on real operational experience, including how theory applies in commercial flying and what employers look for.
I am a Commercial Pilot with a Graduate Diploma of Aviation and experience as an Operations Manager in aerial and remote operations, including low-level flying, tailwheel aircraft, CSU, and aerial agriculture.
My lessons are suited to student pilots, CPL candidates, and career-changers who want calm, no-nonsense support and real industry insight.
