About Luna

About me:
I’m Luna, a final year Veterinary student at the University of Bristol, with A* grades in Biology at both A-Level and IGCSE. I was awarded a scholarship for academic excellence and achieved full A* predicted grades. But don't take me just as a scholar! I pride myself most in the experience and excellent feedback I have had from my past 10+ students. I only take on limited students at a time and they usually stay on with me until they complete A-levels, which also makes me believe that I am a great tutor!

Experience:
- Online tutor at Studymind, a leading tutoring company, since 2025 as an A level biology tutor after completing rigorous selection
- Online tutor at Tutor the Nation, a charity connecting volunteers with pupils in the State sector for free online tutoring, since 2024
- Ongoing biology private tutoring in GCSE and A level since 2020
- In person tutor at local tutoring centre for secondary school students supporting general school work

I specialise in:
- Breaking down difficult topics into simple, memorable frameworks
- Exam board–specific preparation (AQA, OCR, Edexcel)
- Improving exam technique using mark schemes and past papers
- Building confidence alongside academic performance
- Making content stick

Lessons are fully personalised depending on your goals and unique needs. Whether you are aiming to pass or boost your grade.

About the lesson

Before we start, I’ll ask about the topics you’d like to focus on so I can plan effectively.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long. In our first session, we’ll spend the first 15 minutes chatting about your goals, expectations, and any concerns you might have.

Then we’ll dive into the teaching — with lots of interaction, Q&A, and discussion to keep you engaged. In future lessons, we’ll usually begin by reviewing questions from the previous session, then move on to new material.

At the end of each lesson, we’ll sum up what you’ve learned and plan how you can revise the material. I’ll also let you know what to expect next time. Depending on your learning style, I may set tasks or homework to help reinforce key concepts too.
