About Anna
As a former teacher of 10 years, I have worked and helped a variety of students that each had their unique strengths and different learning needs. Over the course of my teaching career, something that has stood out to me is the power of independent and confident learning. When students know that they can do something it gives them the confidence to try new things and tackle problems from different angles. I decided to go to private tutoring as I see the benefits of helping students who are struggling to find their voice, confidence and independence in their learning journey. When students are actively involved in their learning process and can reflect on their thinking, they develop a stronger sense of ownership of their own learning journey. They are engaged and involved and not just passively receiving information. Learning is a collaborative process, and as a tutor, I am here to guide, support and encourage your child so they can be successful. You are not alone in this journey and I am here to help guide you. I am looking forward to helping you and your child find the success you are looking for.

I believe that students can be successful and learn to love learning with confidence and independence. This can be accomplished through tailored lessons to meet your child where they are at in their learning and build at their pace. I also like to incorporate things that students enjoy. For example, your child can learn to love reading when they find the right genre of books. These lessons are meant for students aged 7-14, who either want to catch up to grade level or want extra challenges, in reading, writing and math. I have worked in the classroom for 10 years and have experience in building students' love of learning, confidence and independence.
