About Alan
I like to talk through a lot of the resources as I feel just writing down what's right and wrong doesn't help in the long run. Same as memorising answers as if you have to explain yourself it can catch you out. My methods of teaching are different that help in both theoretical and applied applications. I start by understanding each student's timeline and what they want to accomplish by the end. I will then plan out each week building up to the finale so that nothing should catch you off guard. If you feel like you need more time on a subject I will break it down into smaller and more digestible content.

I like to teach interactively using Mentimeter; using this helps me to place quizzes after some new information to see if you understood the previous slides. The typical length of a lesson can go from 1-2 hours. I have previously taught at GCSE level but I have also taught post-16 education as well. I have tutored for about 1.5 years helping students carry on learning throughout summer to get them prepared for exams, as well as some extra lessons right before specific exams to help lessen the pressure of them.
