About Justin
I am a graduate from the University of Lethbridge with a degree in Mathematics and enjoy solving problems and helping others do the same. In my spare time I enjoy playing basketball and watching sports. Students can count on me to be reliable, organized, and respectful of their time and goals. I focus on creating a positive learning environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are seen as part of the process. Above all, I want students to walk away from each session with a better understanding of their work and the confidence to take on new challenges

My approach as a tutor is centered on meeting students where they are and helping them build confidence step by step. I start by getting a sense of what a student already understands and where they’re struggling. I try to break problems down into manageable parts, and go at a pace suited to each individual student.
A typical lesson usually starts with a quick review of what we covered previously, followed by working through the new material together. I like to build in time for guided practice so I can see the student’s thought process and help correct misunderstandings early. Before wrapping up, I make sure the student can work through at least one or two problems independently and feels clear about what to focus on next.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of strong math skills and real experience working with students through coaching. Coaching high school basketball taught me how to encourage students, adjust my communication style, and stay patient while helping them grow.
My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and early college students who need help with math—whether they’re trying to strengthen their foundation, keep up with coursework, or feel more comfortable with problem-solving in general.
