About Yuki

I love travelling! I've lived in Tokyo, Arizona, Barcelona, and now London, and visited over 20 countries. I bring that global perspective into every lesson.

In our lessons, let's talk about travel, food, movie, anime, and whatever you're into! The best Japanese conversations start with things you actually love!

Does Japanese feel like an impossible language to learn?
If any of these sound like you, I'm your person:

- You are looking for a lesson that strikes just the right balance between fun and serious.
- You want a teacher who makes you feel comfortable enough to make mistakes
- You want to understand why Japanese works the way it does, not just learn from the textbook.

Here's why I might be your right fit:
I currently teach Japanese at a school in the UK, and I've lived, studied and worked in the US and Spain. I didn't just study English or Spanish from a textbook. I picked them up by actually living there. So I know from experience exactly where English and Spanish speakers tend to struggle with Japanese. Some of the expressions exist in English or Spanish but just don't translate into Japanese directly.

I teach more than just textbook Japanese. I love helping people discover the natural, living language that Japanese people actually use every day. Whether you're looking for structured, lesson-style learning or the kind of real conversational Japanese you'd pick up living in Japan, I've experienced both worlds firsthand, so I can tailor lessons to whatever works best for you.

5+ years of tutoring and teaching Japanese. I've also supported many students through exams and language certifications. I'm a frank, honest and straightforward tutor, so students tend to just ask what's on their mind without overthinking it.

I'm very positive minded and optimistic by nature, and I genuinely see the potential in every student. There is zero pressure in my lesson. I studied intercultural communication at a Japanese university, learnt Spanish from scratch in Barcelona and volunteered teaching Japanese to students at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. These experiences taught me that every student has their own strengths, preferences and personality. My job is to find yours, so you feel confident enough to just talk and enjoy without being overwhelmed. In our lessons, let’s also share about the stuff we like. When you're fully enjoying yourself, that's when you learn the most!
