About Yaxian

Hello! I’m Yaxian, a native Chinese speaker from the beautiful coastal city of Dalian. Over the past ten years, I’ve lived in both the United States and Ireland, where I gained not only life experience but also a deep appreciation for cultural exchange and language learning. During this time, I’ve been teaching Mandarin to students from diverse backgrounds—including university students, professionals, and adult learners—and discovered how much I enjoy helping others connect with the Chinese language and culture. Teaching Chinese has become more than just a job for me—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I understand the challenges that non-native speakers face when learning Mandarin, and I love being part of their journey, watching them grow in confidence and fluency. It brings me so much joy to see my students progress, whether they're learning for travel, work, study, or personal interest. I believe language is a bridge that connects people, and I’m excited to use my experience and skills to help you cross that bridge. About the lesson

My teaching approach is interactive, personalized, and practical. I tailor each lesson to suit the student’s level, goals, and interests—whether it's building conversational skills, mastering grammar, or improving pronunciation. I often incorporate real-life topics, cultural insights, and everyday scenarios to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

Each lesson typically lasts 40-45 minutes, with a balance of speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice. For beginners, I also use English when needed to ensure clear understanding and a smooth learning experience.

With over five years of teaching experience and nearly ten years of living abroad in English-speaking countries, I have helped university students, professionals, and adult learners from different backgrounds improve their Chinese skills.

These lessons are ideal for adult learners and teens, from complete beginners to intermediate or advanced students who want to strengthen their fluency, expand vocabulary, or prepare for exams like HSK.
