As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel both challenged and empowered. My primary goal is to help students not just learn the material, but to understand and appreciate the concepts behind what they are practising. For example, I believe that math is not just about solving equations, but about developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
I believe in active learning, conceptual understanding, visual aids and real-world applications, along with step-by-step problem solving and most of all fostering a growth mindset in my students!
I typically do warm up activities, then start reviewing and teaching concepts, followed by guided and independent practice.
Ultimately, I believe that with the right guidance and mindset, anyone can improve their skills and gain the confidence they need to succeed, no matter their starting point.
